Situation
A hand operable one-line desalination system was being
used for the processing of the boiler feed water. The
thermal degasification system, the waste water processing system and the
boiler feed pumps were no longer
up to date.
The boiler house was changed over to 72 hours of non-supervised operations.
This lead to the decision to
plan and install a modern water processing system with thermal degasification
and waste water treatment.
The
economical aspect was taken into consideration in choosing between two
alternatives: a complete
desalination system, or a part-desalination system with reverse osmosis.
Result
From city water, part desalinated water is generated, having
a conductivity of approximately 60 µS/cm.
Warmed-up simultaneously with the condensates from the lye remover and
exhaust condenser, this supple-
ment water is fed to the degasification system. The part-desalination
takes place with ion exchanger.
The waste water from the boiler house and the regenerated water is neutralized
in a neutralization system.
