Starting Situation
Within the restructuring measures of the City Department of Works, the Munich town council voted to build a
new administration and operation center on the grounds of the former gas works at Dachauer Street 148. The
property was already owned by the city and since the system of gas supplying of the town gas was changed
over from oil to natural gas, the land was no longer needed. The construction measures were to include the
new building of the administration center, the workshops of all the plant areas (i.e. gas, water, bathing opera-
tions, power supplying) as well as other technical facilities.
