Starting Situation
The Munich City Department of Works, SWM Versorgungs GmbH,
are building a central heating unit at their
Riem location for the supplying of the trade fair city Riem with a total
heat capacity of 40MW. The basic load
of approximately 8MW is to be covered by the utilization of geothermal
subterranean water. If the basic load
can not be covered by geothermal energy, then the power load will be secured
with the installation of 1 to 2
block type thermal power station modules.
Result
With the Riem heating center, a technical and economical
system has been constructed that not only allows
for the implementation of geothermics but one that also most favorably
satisfies today's environmental demands.
